Blackberry Texas Holdem

Blackberry customers are a fiercely loyal crowd of consumers, and, as such, are likely familiar with the company Gameloft, or at least some of its offerings. Creating games for the Blackberry, including its new Pearl incarnation, Gameloft offers games for download from its website for around $7, and that now includes a new version of the popular online poker game. Swedish Government Owned Online Poker Turns Profit

The government-owned and -licensed online gaming company known as Svenska Spel AB has recently posted record profits of $685 million for 2006, and it owes its success in a large part to its online poker division. The company took over online poker in Sweden in an effort to move the Swedish population of online poker players from unregulated markets to a regulated one, which seems to be a popular idea as the site grows. Team Canada Freerolls from Poker Stars

Online poker room Poker Stars is fielding a team of Canadian poker players to compete in this year’s World Series of Poker, and they are offering a free chance to any Canadian player who wants to be a part of it. Cashier hurt in another poker robbery (Saipan Tribune)

A cashier was injured when two men staged an armed robbery at a poker arcade in Koblerville early Monday morning. Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lei Ogumoro said yesterday that Kamala Bade Mesik, 39, a Nepalese cashier at DK Poker, suffered minor injuries to the throat, face, and forearm.

The basics of tight play involve folding any and all hands that are weak, keeping your chips out of the pot, and thus out of the other players’ piles. Tight play is one of the key skills you must learn in order to have any chance of success at Holdem. If you don’t play tight from time to time, you’ll end up tossing away your chips on useless hands.
