The Tri-State’s Chapter of Greyhound Pets of America hosted a poker run fundraiser Sunday afternoon. The organization helps find homes for greyhound dogs once they retire from the race track. The animals are first placed in foster care, so they can adjust to pet life before being placed in a permanent home.

College kids and poker have never been strangers, but with the poker boom still in full swing years after it began, it is no wonder that colleges are actually organizing poker tournaments, such as the one that took place in April at Penn College. Kenny Rogers, of Kenny Rogers Roasters fame - a fried chicken restaurant chain started in 1991 - launched the Gambler Poker Club as a spot for US players to play poker for free, even though they can win valuable prizes.
