Welsh Poker on the Rise

Poker remains a growth industry around the world, but the growth is going to be uneven depending on a lot of factors, including marketing, legal standing, and interest of the locals. In Wales, the industry was given green light - with a 31 percent ranking in recent survey that said the Welsh like to play poker. The 31 percent of adults in Wales surveyed who said they play poker is huge compared to the Scots rank of 27% and the English at 22%…

Pocket Sized Negreanu

When most people think of artificial intelligence they conjure up the mental image of something like HAL. from 2001: A Space Odyssey. Today though, artificial intelligence doesn’t have to be hauled into orbit around Saturn: in our world, the most sophisticated AI is user friendly and small enough to fit in your pocket. Oddly enough, these words are also an accurate description of poker champ Daniel Negreanu.

2007 World Poker Congress

The 2007 World Poker Congress opened with Sue Schneider of Clarion Gaming pointing out that the big challenge in putting on poker conferences is finding a hospitable venue, and that Malta fits this need. Lucky for attendees, the event was being held in Malta, where big names from poker organizations from around the globe gathered to discuss the industry. Poker Helps Cartwright Get Happy

Cartwright, who voices the character of Bart on the long running animated show The Simpsons, is a co-founder of Happy House, which is the charity that will benefit form the event, which is to take place at her home on December 15th. Fixing the Game

Playing poker at home gives you the opportunity to try and feel like you’re a Wild West outlaw without having to worry about the consequences of boisterous and possibly offensive behavior. Another advantage playing at home with friends presents is the ability to modify the game as you play, fixing it in a manner of speaking.

Playing a Questionable Hand

Logically speaking, the best way to make money at Holdem is to only bet when you have the best hand at the table. This piece of advice can be filed in the folder entitled “Duh”. Of course there are other considerations to the game than simply approaching from a two-dimensional, pragmatic direction. If you only play a hand when your hole cards are strong, and fold immediately if the flop doesn’t go your way, you will become about as unpredictable as a rerun of “Diff’rent Strokes”.
