You may have heard of the Poker Million, a poker event that guarantees a million dollars in the prize pool; one online poker room has decided to up that to Poker Trillion - at least in the name. PokerTrillion.com is a London based online poker site that just recently launched, offering live tournament qualifiers online, with plenty of prize packages to pay for the seats and entry fees. At Dimat Enterprises the word is out - three top online poker pros have been signed on to write books on no limit poker tournament strategy. Eric “Rizen” Lynch, Jon “Pearljammer” Turner, and Jon “Apestyles” Van Fleet have all been signed on to author two books, a two-volume set, analyzing real hands each have played over the years. Christmas stockings will have to wait, however, as the books are not due out until the spring and fall of 2008…

Vegas is a long way from Milan, and we don’t mean that in geographic terms. Considering the fashion sense of most poker players, if you took away the tables they are playing on along with the well dressed dealers and barely dressed cocktail waitresses, it would be hard to tell the difference between a group from the WSOP and some guys from the local homeless shelter. This fact has not gone unnoticed by British body language expert Judi James.

Luck is not a strategy. Luck is what happens when a strategy fails. Prayer is also a good thing to add into the mix when your tactics go haywire. The difference between a good player and a great player is that the good ones play well and hope for a little luck, and great poker players have a solid game that includes taking as much luck out of the equation as possible.

The latest of the stops on the World Series of Poker Circuit has gotten underway in Louisiana, the $5,000 Championship Event taking place at Harrah’s in New Orleans. The Winter Bayou Poker Challenge got started after three other preliminary tournament events were wrapped up, whetting the poker fans’ appetite for more. There were two $1,000 events, won by John Sarver, who won $75,734, and Timothy Miles, who won $80,704…
