The 10th edition of the Clarion Gaming Internet Gambling Report has been completed and compiled and is now for sale online. The report weighs in at a heft 660 pages, and is advertised as a comprehensive legal guide to every aspect of online gaming, including online poker. A Fort Collins poker supply store manager has gone on record claiming he had no knowledge of an illegal gambling operation running out of his shop, despite the fact that police arrested his business partner for running it. Dustin Santino, the owner of Front Range Poker Supply, was arrested for running a professional gambling ring, a misdemeanor. For those who are unaware of the term “semi-bluff” this is not when a really big truck speeds up, stops just short of squishing a Toyota Prius like an over ripe grape, and the driver yells out “just kidding!” In reality the truck would just keep going and the world would mourn the loss of one more completely useless, yet trendy car.

The current king and queen of poker controversy are Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke. Neither of these legends can order a falafel without kicking some sort of media ruckus. Usually when Phil makes the news a WSOP bracelet, scantily clad busty blondes, or an accusation of kicking puppies is included in the story. Annie has become something of a political football whether it is her efforts to get the American ban on internet poker changed or some of her politically incorrect views on “Women Only” poker tournaments.

The poker world seems to be glutted with young bucks turning pro, but is it as easy as it seems? In short - no. To turn pro takes a lot of hard work, a lot of money, and a lot of success. Nothing wrong with those things at all, but for the casual player ready to quit his or her day job after they win a few hundred bucks at an online poker tournament, a closer look at what it takes is a smart move.

It is an amazing feat to make it to the final table of any major poker event, and the Grand Prix de Paris during the sixth season of the World Poker Tour was no exception. Held in the swanky and famous Aviation Club in Paris, it was even more amazing when two friends made it to the same table.
