The LAPT 2008 will see poker tournaments in Ecuador, Peru, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Panama, Colombia and Costa Rica. At the end of the season one player will be crowned by winning a Tournament of Champions event… More: continued here Dec 16 2007 Poker Bribes Bring Down SheriffThursday saw an indictment unsealed that fingered former Buncombe County Sheriff Bobby Medford, charging Medford and three former deputies with participation in an illegal video poker ring. According to prosecutors, the Sheriff and his deputies were assisting video poker operators via non enforcement of the law, not to mention accepting money to protect the illegal video poker ring. They are still ending the WSOP with the Main Event, a $10,000 No Limit Holdem championship event, but they are planning on more than one.
