The Peacock Lays an Egg
Peacocks are all show and no go. Sure, they look great and stare at us with that “I’m better’n you” look while fanning out their tail feathers, but they can’t fly, have a singing voice that makes them the “tiny tim” of songbirds, and really don’t have enough meat on them to satisfy any appetite bigger than that of a dieting supermodel. This may make the peacock a subpar bird, but qualifies it as the perfect mascot for NBC. Nothing points out this fact more than their choices for the 2008 NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship.
