Dealerless Table Concept Attacked by Dealers

The latest trend in live poker is a device called a dealerless table, a table fitted with touch screen computers that run a poker game without the need for a physical dealer, cards or chips. The Quebec area casinos have 25 of these machines installed and now the unions that represent nearly 1,500 dealers in the area are lodging a complaint, calling the tables illegal. The request was lodged with the Quebec Superior Court, which has yet to make a decision on the matter…

Facebook Online Poker

The social networking site Facebook boasts a version of Texas Holdem that gives more chips when you invite your friends - the fact that does illustrate the popularity of Holdem in particular and poker in general. Now online poker site Ujogo is setting up a poker room on Facebook, which, according to their press, is a perfectly legal version of the game which is a hot topic politically and legally in the United States. Ujogo commissioned TNS, a research firm, to conduct a study on poker playing habits before making their move…

Mountains are the world’s best pre-made metaphors for struggles, challenges, and hierarchies. What’s even better, they’re almost universal. There are mountains everywhere, and just about everyone has seen a mountain of one size or another at least once in their life. The mountain, therefore, is a wonderful metaphor for poker.

Binion’s Hosts World Tavern Poker Open

Binion’s casino, formally Binion’s Horseshoe, is a famous destination in Las Vegas, being the birthplace of the World Series of Poker. When they sold the franchise to Harrah’s Entertainment they needed something to fill the tables, and one way they do that is by hosting the World Tavern Poker Open.

Despite the fact that Erica Schoenberg can do more for a Cleveland Cavaliers Jersey than Oprah could ever hope to do for a designer gown, it still qualifies as “slacker wear”. This seems to be a plague in the sport of professional poker. Finally someone has decided it is time to do something about this. Stealing

For those who are not aware of what stealing a pot is, this is the practice of bluffing before the flop and getting everyone to fold. Basically you win the blinds and the initial bets by default and all it cost you was the effort involved to lie in a credible manner. Now that you know what stealing the pot is, the question is when is the best time to do this?
