To continue a great period in her poker life Scandinavian poker wonder kid Annette Obrestad was recently awarded three accolades, including the Golden Hand. Annette_15, as she is known online, became the youngest World Series of Poker champion last year when she won the first ever European WSOP at the age of 18. If you are in a situation where you have been dealt an unsuited King/7, and the flop delivers a K/4/2, under most circumstances you would be sitting pretty, and you can internally give yourself a little high five. Of course if one of your opponents has a cat that ate the canary smile on their face, and begins acting like a bully during the next betting round, this means one of two things. They are either trying to use the King on the board to facilitate a bluff or they are holding one of the three remaining Kings.

Anybody who has been to Moscow over the past few years will see that its vibe is very similar to the one that is felt in cities like London, Paris, New York, and Chicago. The problem is that much of the western media seems to be ignorant of the fact that Russia is a very Cosmopolitan nation, and one would wonder if the New York Times editorial staff is even aware that Stalin is dead. Thankfully, Titan Poker is aware of the dramatic changes in this historic nation since the late 80’s and will be sending players there for the first time to compete in the White Night Millions.

You have put in countless hours playing poker online or at the casino, and by now you know a thing or two about the game. You know when to slow play and when to shove all in, you know how to spot a fish and what kind of bait to use to get paid off, and you know how to not go broke. You may not be the best or even close to where you want to be, but you certainly know enough to take a new player under your wing - become a poker mentor, and learn by teaching. Tuesday saw the arrest of a pair of Texas Holdem hosts for possession of gambling devices, providing premises for gambling, and three counts of child endangerment. The two, husband and wife, not only were hosting an illegal poker game in their Middleton home, but the wife often dealt the cards topless. Considering her profession is that of a stripper it likely came naturally, but that along with the legal problems of the game and the fact that there were children in the home during the games led to the charges…

Poker players arrested in a sting operation last May in Canada have been complaining that the persecution against them is a waste of time, and it appears that a Manitoba judge is inclined to agree. Provincial court Judge Rocky Pollock, when ruling on two of the 57 poker players’ cases, discharged all criminal charges against Neil Faderson and Rellen Orcullo, and urged the crowd at large to contact the MP if they, too, think the laws regarding the legality of poker in Canada should be changed.
