Qualify for UK National Poker Championships

Online qualifiers for the UK National Poker Championships are now underway, according to a recent announcement from online poker room Bet365 Poker. The championships, which are run by Genting Stanley Casinos, will run in the Circus Casino in Manchester, Mint Casino in Southend, and the Circus Casino Nottingham as well. The events will run from March 26th through the end of that month, and players have time up until March 18th to qualify for the events online…

Shooting Off More Than Your Mouth

People should always think twice when they are considering cheating. This is a good advice for how one approaches the game of poker and life in general. For example, John Wayne Bobbitt was punished for his romantic wanderings by having his wife play “this little piggy went to market” with his favorite appendage. Bill Clinton is repaying his Karmic debt to his wife by being an active, yet buffoonish, player in what is turning out to be one of the biggest upsets in American political history. Both of these pale in comparison to how Duane Demaris Crittenden II of Marion County, Florida dealt with three people that he believed were cheating him at poker.

Tag Team Poker

You have seen it in “Pro” wrestling, and marveled at the skill in which one wrestler sets up his opponent, tags in his partner, and steps back as his partner delivers the coup de grace. Well, here is your chance to do the same thing, although you don’t have to wear a uni-tard to do it, nor be able to bench press a Buick. It’s called Tag Team Poker, and it is starting to catch on at live major poker events - so no reason you can’t do it at home.

Poker Pro Joins Training Team

The man they call The Mouth has joined a team of poker coaches recently, according to a recent press release. The PokerSavvy training service has announced that Mike “The Mouth” Matusow is the latest addition to a team that includes a number of online pros, such as Justin “WPThero” Rollo, Evan “Fisherman” Roberts, and Dani “Ansky” Stern. Matusow is the first traditional, or live, poker pro to join the team…

Heartland Poker Tour Doing Well

In 2005, Todd Anderson and Greg Lang launched the Heartland Poker Tour, which by all accounts is doing very well indeed. Billed as a poker tour for the average player, the HPT has continued to grow year after year, with more than eight million dollars being paid out to tourney winners so far.
